ETA 2: ASKDHALJHFDKJFHDSJFKHDSF!!! In trying to fix my screwed up cut tag thing, I accidentally deleted the whole part of the post where I talk about the exhibition. Excuse me while I go kill LiveJournal.
ETA 3: I think I fixed it. There might be more bolds or italicizations that should be there, but I'm too lazy too read through the whole post and find them.
While writing this post, I found out that one of my friends, Ankoor, was chosen to be an extra in the Nightmare on Elm Street movie! He'll be doing his filming on Wednesday morning, so I'll be sure to ask him about everything. I also learned on Wednesday that one of our teachers is going to be cast as a history teacher for the movie. Unfortunately, I don't think I know any of the teachers who tried out. During World History, everyone was asking why our teacher didn't try out, but he said that the teacher is supposed to be boring, and he was incapable of being boring. :-) ETA: My friend Josh (yes, matt_writer, our son!) is in the movie too!
( And now the Harry Potter exhibition and what followed... )
And so ends what was probably the most awesome day of my life since Terminus! Tags: chicago, harry potter, nightmare on elm street, scary people Current Music: Draco and the Malfoys - Mother, Stop Being Ridiculous | Powered by Last.fm

Yesterday I did something I never thought I would have fun doing: I went outside. And I played volleyball (well, with a volleyball). With my sister. What the hell is wrong with me? I feel like a whole different person! It started out when my mom insisted I play with my sister, Rachel, because I need to do something besides stay on the computer all day. Also, if I didn't, Rachel would never shut up and she'd start begging my mom to play with her. So I reluctantly went outside and was bored to death. But then I decided that I could make it fun by roleplaying Hetalia! As I have forced my sister to watch all the anime episodes and I never shut up about Hetalia, she knows a bit about the Allies and Axis Powers. So I decided that I would be Germany and she could be Italy, but that soon failed because me being Germany means that I actually have to play. So I decided to switch roles, and promptly ran away shouting that I had to get gelato and take a siesta.
Eventually I got bored of that, so I switched to Poland. Then England., Prussia (Prussia FTW!), France, and Russia! But Rachel finally got fed up when I exclaimed that we should go play in the snow and started glaring at the ball until it moved. So this is my class wedding ring! We get to design it, choosing pictures, so I made it Remus/Sirius themed. The pictures are very crappy because they were taken using a cell phone, so I'm sorry about that! The text at the top says, "Moony," and it has the Islamic symbol of a moon and a star. I'm not Muslim, but the moon and star obviously represents Remus and Sirius. The text on this side says, "Padfoot," and has my school mascot on it. My school mascot is a huskie. Not a husky, which is the proper spelling, but HUSKIE. Which is apparently okay because "it's a proper noun." Which is so stupid. If our mascot were some random creature called a huskie, that would make sense, but our mascot is an ACTUAL husky. But anyway, that's obviously supposed to represent Sirius's animagus form! Now matt_writer, you need to get a matching one! Tags: pictures, remus/sirius, ring, wedding Current Music: Doctor Who - Journey's End

So Earth Hour just ended for me! I'm still keeping the lights and everything off, though. It really was pretty easy for me since I don't use the lights much anyway, and since I have a laptop and an unsecured network in the vicinity, I could still get online. I've just been sitting on the couch with my computer for the last hour. Sadly, this is probably what I'd be doing regardless of the date. I only encountered slight annoyance from my family after insisting they turn their lights off. My mom wanted to finish watching a movie she had started last night, but she eventually relelented and watched it on her laptop. My sister was upset at first that she couldn't use her computer, but she dealt with it. I think she's actually sleeping right now. Unfortunately, she did trip and bang her chin on an open glass cabinet-thing door about three minutes after Earth Hour started, so she and my mom turned on the lights in the bathroom to check it out. It was actually a pretty bad injury; it wasn't bleeding, but it was very red and hurt a LOT. The problem with Earth Hour is that it's only for one day. That's good for sending a message and all, but as matt_writer pointed out, it makes people feel proud that they did something big even though they're going to go back to wasting just as much energy as they used to. Still, every little bit counts, right? I'm definitely going to participate in Earth Hour next year, and I will try and convince my family to do this every week. Or at least once a month. Here is the post about fandom I mentioned before. I might be kind of disorganized because I was planning to finish it when I got back from the show, but I am just too excited and hyped up to reread and edit and organize and whatnot. I can barely type! I meant to say more stuff before about the great causes the Harry Potter fandom supports and the HP Alliance and kreachercookies and everything, but just pretend I did, okay? So veganwrocker posted an entry a few weeks ago about wizard rock and the Harry Potter, and it got me thinking. ( Why Fandom Freaking Rocks ) So summary: FANDOM IS AWESOME, it saves people from lots of emotional hurt, it does great things for charity, it facilitates the making of friends, and I am SO GLAD I’ve been it for so long!
